Are these the cutest cousins you have ever laid eyes on?! I love this image - their love for one another really shows through. No instructions were given to these girls - they just naturally went to this pose - it was adorable!

Usually I prefer to work with families outdoors but the rainy weather kept us indoors for the following family shoots. I typically use my neutral backdrop to keep the focus more on the family. Rylee just learned to walk so it seemed fitting for her to be standing for their family picture.

With large family groups it is always a good idea to do some beforehand wardrobe coordination. You don't have to be matchy- matchy to look like a cohesive group. In this case everyone was asked to wear shades of blue or light pink.

You can go formal or casual for your indoor shoot - every family is unique. The Hafner's are a high-energy family - you could just feel it! Too formal of an image would not have captured their energy. Shots like these ones below seemed to come so naturally.

More Seniors...
Here are a few of my favorites from Alki and Seattle Center.
Mom wanted an image with flowers - and the wind finally worked in our favor this time!
It was a beautiful clear day - just very windy. Megan was such a good sport!
I love the leaves falling in the background...

Here we are at the EMP - I loved how the Hot Pink window complimented his shirt and the side panel reflected. The second picture is one of my favorites - capturing Jeff's great smile!

Seattle Center
Our morning started early at the Seattle Center - it was cold, windy and bright but I think we still were able to capture some great images.

I love the reflection that the EMP structure gives off - the copper reflects a real warmth and I love the halo-like auro it creates behind them.

Natural light is always fun to play with...

Paul & Rona Family at Alki Beach...

Who knew we would have such fantastic weather on Oct. 21st?! What a beautiful backdrop though - great for family pictures.

The beach really was a lot of fun but then I suggested we head over to a little side street that was covered with brightly colored fall leaves. We couldn't resist - we had to get some leaf throwing pictures. The images turned out to be my favorite of the day! I love the sense of fun and movement that comes across in these images. To me - this is what family is all about.

Cobbler's children...
Have you heard the story about the cobbler's children not having any shoes? Well it might as well be the photographer's children! Here are a few that I have taken recently...
Ayden let me play with my new fixed 50mm lens - I LOVE it! Notice the depth of field in this picture is so narrow that although his face is in perfect focus - his ear is not! Fun!
I took Linda out for a bit to take a few new school year images. I asked her Dad to be the client and choose which pictures he wanted. He choose this one because he loves Linda's fun personality. I can't argue with that. I did however really like the one below- her blue eyes are so beautiful and I think this shows the other side of Linda, the reflective, serious side.
Leo posed a bit for me as we were walkling around Seattle Center.
Again -this was with my new 50mm.

Kentridge Homecoming 2006!
Queen Elizabeth Hass

Elizabeth's Mom asked me to come down to the football field and take pictures.
It was a lot of fun and such a bonus to have Elizabeth crowned
the queen!

ZUMA BEACH
We had a great day at beautiful Zuma beach! The best part for me was getting these pictures of the dolphins out surfing with the locals. You can make out their shadows in the wave and then just as the wave is about to crash on shore they launch themselves up and out of the wave. It was amazing!

Seth & Michelle Wedding

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from their wedding - it was a beautiful ceremony in the beautiful backyard of her parents home.

I especially love this picture - it captures Michelle's expression after she realized that she just put Seth's wedding ring on his right hand....

One of the most tender moments was when they whispered their vows to one another...

Senior Danny

Danny was so easy to work with from the first picture to the last. We had several images that really turned out great - here are a few of my favorites.

I loved the color or Danny's guitar - the color really brings out his blue eyes too!

We found a green door out by the track field - a great back drop for his uniform!

Ashley Senior Pictures...

What beautiful brown eyes! Working with Ashley was fun - she wanted some different images, so we had a good time playing around with that.

I love this one with the amp - whenever she laughed I could always count on a great smile!
